I'm planning to create a 'mash-up' of different architectural styles for the diorama -

Giovanni Battista Piranesi and Terry Gilliam have an equal share of influence on the overall style and feel of Minions' environment -

This image The Professor's Dream (1848) by Charles Robert Cockerell is also particularly inspiring - 

I'd like my diorama to be a microcosm of this idea with a selection of key architectural pieces representing different cultures.

Proposed idea

A rogues' gallery of Minions

I had a quick go at making one of the Minions to see have dense to make to the model. I think I can afford to increase the Tri count to around 4000 - 5000 Tris each.

This is just a rough concept. The Minions are quite small so I wanted to see what scale to make organic elements.  Obviously they don't want to be obscured by tall grass, etc.

Adding some vertical exploration should make the diorama more dynamic and FUN :)
